EMBODIMENT

our anchor into wholeness

Hi dear ones,

When I was in school at the School of Embodied Yoga Therapy, my teachers would ask us every single unit — what is embodiment?

My answers (and probably my classmate’s answers) were different every single time. How do we say what is beyond sayable? How do we say what is known through feeling? What does it really mean to inhabit our bodies? It feels to me that our language falls short in this way, and certainly there is no one answer.

Luckily, there are infinite ways to find our way back home to ourselves. Just as there are infinite ways we lose track of ourselves.

I could find a definition and try to make it as truthy as I can manage, but I’d rather create the spaces for us to explore this in conversation, discussion, and definitely in our practices. I’d love for us to find and follow our internal thread back towards ourselves.

In this episode, and all of our episodes, we are presenting you what I envision as potential doorways to the topics we’re discussing — gratitude, nourishment, centering, embodiment.

We won’t be able to present you all of the possible doorways. All of the doorways won’t be the doorways that you need. But if it feels like there is an opening to a more liberated, loving possibility for yourself, for the world, I hope you follow it.

It can be an internal resonance. A little invisible glimmer that says “this way!”. It can be a sense of your ears perking up, your body leaning forward, your insides saying “YES”. Often, the information I’ve received that has really helped me, has felt a lot more like a remembering.

In this episode, Cassie and Pascale explore embodiment — not as simply being aware of the body, but as the practice of fully inhabiting ourselves. They reflect on embodiment as a way of listening to what the body holds, trusting its signals, and reconnecting with the wisdom that lives beneath thought and language.

Through honest and grounded conversation, they look at how embodiment deepens presence, strengthens resilience, and reshapes the way we relate to ourselves and others. What does it mean to come home to the body after periods of disconnection? How can embodiment become a daily practice that anchors us in truth, care, and relationship with the world around us?

I’m hosting a virtual, 8-week yoga and therapy group focused on embodiment and caring for your nervous system

Thursdays 3-5:30pm PST / 6-8:30pm EST February 10th-March 31st

Reconnect with your body in a space that centres your right to choose.

In our healing process we reconnect with our bodies so that we can relearn how to listen to them, and how to respond with what they need.

In this supportive small-group container, you will learn how to listen to your body beneath the surface. Based in the yoga philosophy framework of the koshas, we gradually reconnect with our body’s physical, energetic, mental-emotional, intuitive and spiritual layers through gradual, gently guided practice.

While the mind may speak in words and pictures, the body primarily speaks in sensation. We can give the body a voice through somatic practices including movement and breath, while learning how to take care of and regulate our bodies at this point in our lives.

$750 for 21hr ($36/hr) | Payment can be divided into 4 payments | Billable as psychotherapy for most Ontario extended health insurance plans.
